  • About the Edition

A book written by the author in an attempt to clear up what he saw as mysteries and misconceptions surrounding the naval battle of Jutland in June 1916. Whether this attempt was successful is a matter for later historians. Well worth reading, both by students of the period and the general reader.

The most striking thing about the main body of this book, written by the official naval historian of the battle of Jutland, The truth about Jutland book that such a conventional account of the battle, which goes out of its way to defend the British commander in chief and in most respects the Royal Navy's performance in the battle, should have had to be published privately and after eight years of official cover ups and rows in parliament/5(2).
